Welcome to CyberVerse! This guide is designed to assist both new and prospective players in embarking on their journey through the CyberVerse!
Setting up an Ergo Wallet
Currently, you will need an Ergo wallet in any case. If you don't have one yet, download Nautilus and set up your Ergo Wallet. Nautilus is an open-source wallet highly regarded by the community. Be sure to securely store your seed phrase!
Getting CYPX
First, visit Spectrum DEX or Crooks DEX and purchase a small amount of CYPX, the project's token, and in-game currency. You'll need it for your initial login on Ergo. One unit is sufficient for this purpose, but you might consider getting more for later spendings. On Cardano, you do not need any CYPX for your first login.
Getting a Playable Character
To obtain a playable character, there are currently two options:
Secondary Market Purchase
Visit skyharbor.io or MewMart, go to "Collections," find "CyberCitizens" or "CyberCitizens GEN3," (on Skyharbor) or pick Cyberverse in Categories (on MewMart) and purchase an NFT. You can also check out the GEN2 Database/GEN3 Database, display "only on sale" and see which citizens are listed on the markets - in one place. You can check the rarity in the CyberVerse Discord server if desired.
Once the NFT arrives in your wallet, visit playcyberverse.com and log in with the $CYPX you bought (and optionally set a password). Back in the lobby, click on "Multiplayer," and your purchased NFT should appear in the selection menu. Congratulations, you're ready to discover the city of Cyberia!
Alternatively, you could join the official Discord server (→ Join!) — which is highly recommended — and ask in the trading channel if anyone is willing to part with one of their Citizen.
Free2Play
You can also play for free! Visit playcyberverse.com , pick "Connect with Ergo wallet" and log in with the CYPX you purchased (and optionally set a password). If you have verified your wallet, the start screen of the lobby will appear. Select the generic Free2Play CyberCitizen and start exploring the Cyberverse.
First Things to Do
Congratulations, you now own a playable character and can start exploring the game! You can use CyberiaMaps to help you exploring the current content of the map.
Familiarize yourself with the UI
Mini-map:
Located in the top right corner, the mini-map displays the player's position, other players (indicated by pink dots), and interactive NPCs (white dots), as well as non-interactive NPCs (blue dots). It can be expanded for a complete overview of Cyberia's map or collapsed. You can also check out CyberiaMaps on this website and look up all important locations.
Chat/Quest/Friends Window:
Situated on the right side, players can engage in global chat, view daily quests and have an overview over their friends. This window is collapsible for convenience.
Audio Player:
Found in the bottom right corner, the Audio Player allows players to access their playlists (based on owned Audio NFTs) and control playback.
Quick Selection Bar:
Located at the bottom of the game window, the quick selection bar enables players to create shortcuts (assigned to keys 1-8) for usable items such as tools and consumables. Additionally, it allows for customization to include any desired item, providing quick access to inventory details.
Shortcuts:
All shortcuts can be accessed via Menu > Settings, where players have the freedom to bind keys according to their preferences.
Activities
In the game, there are currently five activities available to players. These activities are game mechanics that deplete energy. Each citizen has a maximum energy level of 100. Energy recovers gradually at a rate of +1 every 10 minutes or instantly by using Energy Items. Furthermore, each activity is associated with a skill level that can be leveled up over time.
Exploring in the game yields numerous materials, essential for crafting pickaxes and fishing rods. These tools, in turn, are indispensable for mining ores in the cave or fishing for fish. Loot boxes scattered throughout the city may even contain ready-to-use pickaxes or fishing rods. Fishing and farming emerge as viable avenues for acquiring CYPX, should you opt not to purchase them from the market. Accessing the cave and renting farmland plots require CYPX, underscoring their importance. For further details on the uses of CYPX, refer to this page. Additionally, consider trading with more experienced players for these starter tools. With sufficient pocket money, you could invest in a Jackhammer NFT, the ultimate mining tool (→ Ore Mining). However, bear in mind that it requires recharging after 80 uses, necessitating the acquisition of crafting materials over time.
Jobs / Mini games
Currently, there are four mini-games, also known as jobs in-game. They are referred to as jobs because they contribute to leveling up your job skill level. Achieving a higher job skill level provides various benefits within each mini-game. Moreover, mini-games offer the most effective method for leveling up your citizen's character level. It's advisable to aim for Level 1, as this unlocks the Free Daily Spin feature in the casino. Participating in mini-games consumes stamina (except for racing, which consumes CyberCars fuel), with one unit being depleted per run. Each citizen is allocated 5 stamina per day, which replenishes after every server reset at 8 PM UTC.
Bank
Every CyberCitizen NFT yields a certain amount of CYPX every day, depending on their generation, rarity and character level. Go to the Bank and talk to the NPC inside to get your CYPX daily before the game server resets.
Advanced activities and goals
Casino
Players can visit the Casino to try their luck in various games such as coin flip, slot machines, and the weekly lottery. Additionally, the game offers a daily free spin at one of the wheels of fortune for NFT characters with Level 1 or higher. The daily VIP spin is located in a restricted access area at the back of the casino. Access to this area is granted only if the player's wallet holds a VIP Membership Card.
Extent your NFT collection
CyberVerse offers several NFT collections, all of which have or will have utility. If you enjoy the game and its roadmap, you might consider purchasing NFTs from one of these collections:
CyberCitizens: GEN2 and GEN3 | All NFTs are playable characters and have collector's value due to limited supply. |
CyberCars | Don't like the slow Vexel Nomad? No problem! Try to get a faster CyberCar from the marketplace. Car enthusiasts might want to collect as many CyberCars as possible to display them in their garage. |
Cyberia Estates | Garage? You heard right. This will be a new feature of apartments. Many buildings in Cyberia contain apartments, which are all NFTs. You can read more about apartments in the next paragraph. |
CyberPets | A collection of 999 cute little animals waiting to be implemented into the game. Most likely, it will feature pet-like battles. If you like a specific one, why not add it to your personal collection? |
CyberVerse Emotes | These simple NFTs are used as emotes in the game. Want to show a specific impression to other players? You might want to get one or two. |
CyberverseRecords/Audio NFTs | Tired of standard tracks? No problem! Many Audio NFTs are already released. You can listen to them in the blockchain explorer. Links in the article. |
CyberVerse Skins | Bored of the standard skin of your free-to-play citizen? No problem! With skins, you can change your look. You might also want to collect all skins, as they could become rare in the future. |
Apartments
Apartments play a significant role in the "endgame" of the current version of the game. If a player decides to purchase one of the Apartment NFTs, they gain access to it in-game and can begin decorating it to their liking. Crafting furniture requires a lot of materials, which must be farmed or bought from the community market. Alternatively, players can purchase Furniture Crates from the Furniture Seller. Additionally, players can set up a furnace to automate the melting of ores and craft a mining rig, which enables CYPX mining.
