Racing Mini Game
Racing is one of currently four minigames and jobs in Cyberverse. With the last update to V3 it also became the second multiplayer minigame. It can be started by standing next to any car in the street of Cyberia or talking to the Racerman (→ CyberiaMaps).
Game Mechanics
Racing is a straightforward 2D retro racing game with a 3D visual style.
Players control their car by accelerating with the Up arrow or W key, and steering with the Left/Right arrows or A/D keys.
The objective is to reach the finish line within a 3-minute timeframe while collecting as many coins as possible along the way.
Players should avoid oil puddles, as they will slow the car down.
The behavior of the car (speed, lateral speed, acceleration) is influenced by its model. For more information, refer to CyberCars.
As of now with V2, there is only one procedurally generated track available. The curves, and placement of coins and puddles change each time the game is started.
V3 introduced multiplayer mode and AI racers in single-player mode. Up to 20 players can now compete against each other. The number of actual players influences the number of coins generated on the track. A new car stat, "weight," was added, influencing each car's driving behavior. Additionally, cars are now divided into two tiers to ensure fairer competition in multiplayer mode.
Racing consumes 1 fuel instead of stamina. Every car comes with 5 fuel that restores with the daily server reset (similiar to stamina for CyberCitizens).
Point System
Completing the racing track awards 60 to 320 point depending on tier and placed rank. Additionally, drivers earn 1 point for every remaining second on the timer, along with extra points based on the number of coins collected. Moreover, the job level of a CyberCitizen provides a bonus of 0.5% per level to the final score. With update 240820, a multiplier of 2x was introduced to the multiplayer mode.
Experience Points
Type of EXP | Formula |
---|---|
Citizen EXP | Score * 0.05 |
Job Skill EXP | Score * 0.1 |
Example: A score of 300 points grants 15 citizen EXP and 30 job skill EXP. Racing does not have its own level like the Bartender and DJ Mini Games.
CYPX Rewards
For every 360 points a player earns, they receive 10 CYPX. The maximum reward is 1110 CYPX with 40,000 points. Additionally, achieving first to third place on the daily leaderboard is rewarded with a bonus:
Place | CYPX |
---|---|
1st | 200 |
2nd | 150 |
3rd | 100 |
